How to Donate Crypto from Phantom (Step by Step)

Sep 21, 2026 · 3 min read · The TraceGood Team

Phantom is a self-custody wallet best known as the go-to wallet for Solana, and it now also handles Ethereum, Base, Polygon, and Bitcoin. Because you hold your own keys, donating is quick and entirely in your control — and on Solana, the network fee is typically a fraction of a cent. Here's the step-by-step.

Before you start

  • Phantom (mobile app or browser extension) with some crypto.
  • A little of the network's native coin for the network fee — SOL on Solana, ETH on Ethereum or Base, POL on Polygon.
  • The charity's donation page open for the payment address.

Phantom doesn't support TRON, so USDT on TRC20 isn't an option here. Pick a coin and network that Phantom holds — for example SOL, or USDC on Solana.

Menu names may vary slightly by app version, but the flow is the same.

Step 1 — Get the charity's address

On the charity's donate page, choose an amount and coin. The checkout shows the exact payment address, the network it expects, and the amount to send. On TraceGood you can pick SOL directly; to give a Solana token such as USDC, or anything else you hold, choose Other coin or network and select it from the 200+ options at checkout. Copy the address and keep the page open.

Step 2 — Tap Send and pick the token

  1. Open Phantom and tap Send.
  2. Select the token you want to donate.

The same token can exist on several networks — USDC on Solana and USDC on Ethereum are separate balances in Phantom. Tokens carry a small network badge; check that the one you pick is on the network the checkout expects.

Step 3 — Enter the address and amount ⚠️

  1. Paste the charity's address — never type it by hand. On mobile you can scan the QR code instead.
  2. Enter the amount shown at checkout.
  3. Tap Next.

Phantom checks that the address format fits the network, which catches some mistakes — a Solana address looks nothing like an Ethereum one — but it can't tell Ethereum, Base, and Polygon addresses apart, since they share a format. That part is on you.

Sending on the wrong network can cause the funds to be lost. When in doubt, match exactly what the charity's donation page shows.

Step 4 — Review and send

Phantom shows a summary with the recipient, amount, and network fee. Review it and tap Send. The transaction is broadcast immediately.

Step 5 — Verify your gift

Solana transfers usually confirm in seconds; Ethereum and Bitcoin take a little longer. Open the transaction in Phantom's activity tab and follow the link to a block explorer — the transaction ID there is your verifiable receipt.

Quick tips

  • Keep a little SOL for fees — even sending USDC on Solana needs a tiny amount of SOL.
  • Check the network badge on the token before you send.
  • Never share your secret recovery phrase. No charity or checkout ever needs it, and no real donation asks you to "connect and approve" anything unusual — a donation is a plain send to an address.
  • Test with a small amount if it's your first time.
