Compare a donation by card, international bank wire and crypto. The defaults are typical figures — change any of them to match your own situation.
Where the defaults come from
Online card processing commonly costs around 2.9% plus a fixed fee per transaction. International wires usually carry a flat fee from the sending bank, and sometimes from intermediary and receiving banks too. A crypto gift pays the blockchain network fee plus the payment processor’s service fee, which for our processor is a fraction of a percent. Because most crypto costs are flat rather than a percentage, the advantage grows with the size of the gift.
Figures are estimates for comparison only. Actual fees depend on your card issuer, bank, country, wallet and network conditions at the time you send.
